Day 2 (Good Friday) Paleokastritsa – Epitaph Processions 10/4
After breakfast, visit Paleokastritsa, one of Corfu's most picturesque spots, with panoramic views from the Bella Vista & Golden Fox viewpoint.
Visit the Byzantine Monastery of the Virgin Mary, built on a hill with enchanting views of the endless blue.
Next, join the first Epitaph procession at Alypa Pier, in a reverent atmosphere against the backdrop of the area's natural beauty.
Followed by a visit to the kumquat fruit factory, where you can taste traditional products (sweets, liqueurs, etc.).
In the evening, head to Corfu Town for the grand Epitaph processions at Spianada Square. The first Epitaph comes from Panagia Spelaiotissa, while the Metropolitan's – the most imposing – concludes late at night. All Epitaphs are accompanied by philharmonic bands, choirs, and banners in mournful style. Return to the hotel and overnight.
Day 3 (Holy Saturday) Botides Custom – St. Spiridon Procession – Kanoni 11/4
After breakfast, depart for the town center to witness the First Resurrection with the unique Botides custom. At 11:00, locals throw clay jars and pitchers full of water from their balconies, symbolizing the expulsion of misfortune. Philharmonic bands play joyful melodies, while crowds collect shards from the broken botides.
Followed by the procession of St. Spiridon's relics, a tradition from the Venetian era symbolizing Corfu's salvation from famine. In the afternoon, visit Kanoni, Pontikonisi, and Vlacherna Monastery, with its idyllic view.
In the evening, attend the Resurrection service at the Upper Square. "Come receive the light! Christ is Risen," the sky fills with fireworks.
